Becoming a Buteyko Practitioner allows the development of a career helping others overcome conditions that dramatically impact on quality of life. The Buteyko Breathing exercises are a safe, effective and natural method for controlling asthma, and their effectiveness allows a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from teaching them.
Senior Buteyko practitioners teach the Buteyko Asthma Management course, with help from outside sources for business training sections of the course. Each of the practitioner trainers is accredited by the Buteyko Institute of Breathing and Health as a qualified practitioner trainer.
The course runs for a minimum of nine months, eight months by correspondence, and a one month in situ block where a Buteyko Practitioner takes you through all aspects of teaching the Buteyko Breathing Technique, according to the Buteyko Institute method. This includes substantial patient interaction, firstly observing the method taught, then teaching under supervision.
While the course concentrates on the management of asthma and the Buteyko Breathing Technique, it also includes a substantial section on the profitable management of a Buteyko practice. A Buteyko practice has a much greater chance of success if business knowledge is applied to its management. Research, which may or may not become part of a Buteyko practice, is also dealt with in depth.
Trainees receive four manuals, all of which are crucial to the successful treatment of patients and the successful management of a Buteyko Practice.
